We’re getting into the groove of the first and third Sundays. This week’s LAWS focused around the theme of Lorna. Lorna is the name of one of the hosts of LAWS; the community vibe was palpable. The event also centered around the birthday of the amazing poet, Tera Vale Ragan!
Artists, friends, family, poetry, discussion….who could ask for anything more?! Oh but there was more!
Pukulele, Sabrina Dropkick, showed up with her uke and an arm in a sling. Not only did she create an amazing set of unapologetic, heart-wrenching odes and head bopping sing-alongs, she also brought her zines and contributed to the LAWS Group Art!
Brezhnev’s Medals, the punk band that followed, kicked ass, or at least air, very literally. This band can only perform when the stars are right…or when the mates are on the same continent…I’m romanticizing…the members are international, and LAWS is stoked to have hosted a show where they’ve come together. They worked the room with the attitude of someone who knows they’re leaving the country the next day. Can’t wait for the reunion.
